The third Art in the Park by the Temiskaming Art Gallery went great. Thank you to everyone who came out to join us with live music, fantastic food, and our local vendors. Last night we had the groups Forever Young, and Dan and Friends play. It was interesting to hear the difference between the two bands as they switched over half way through the night. Forever Young was classic rock, while Dan and Friends had some french songs and some folk songs; they were really a mix of sounds.
For the barbecue we had our regular menu of hot dogs, hamburgers and sausages, and they went down well. Our butter tarts from the Orchard sold out completely, and the brownies were a favourite as well. As always we had cold drinks, as well as hot coffee. Next week however, our barbecue will be selling pulled pork on a bun, graciously sponsored by Zante’s Bar and Grill, instead of our regular fare.
The vendors had, as always, some amazing creations. There were paintings, berries, purses, and one of the vendors, Robert Ritchie, was live painting during Art in the Park. We were also joined by Poor Boy Soles; if you need your shoes repaired, check him out in Cobalt!
Classic cars were in attendance last night as well. There were some beautiful cars parked next to the pavilion, and their owners are always excited to chat about them if you ask them.
The kids activity yesterday involved shaving cream and glue! They got to make small figures with the coloured shaving cream mixture on paper plates and let them set. Once it dried it was a bit squishy but also looked really cool. The children could also finger-paint while they waited for their shaving cream creations to dry.
