Biographies > Gwen Keatley

Gwen Keatley is both an artist and stage designer.  She graduated in painting and drawing from the Ontario College of Art and in stage decor from the National Theatre School.  She taught theatre design in the Fine Arts Department of the University of Alberta for twelve years and designed over 100 productions for Canadian stage from Fredericton to Calgary.

Gwen's work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in Ontario and Michigan, including the Art Gallery of Algoma, the Cornwall Gallery in Sault Ste. Marie, Alberta House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and at Fort St. Joseph.  In 2001 she has won awards at Alberta House, and from the Algoma Arts Council.

Her chalk pastel work in the TAG collection, View from the window, is an evocative scene of light and mist and snow.
