Hugh McKenzie, artist and elder of Temagami First Nation, was born in the same house as Benjamin. They grew up as 'brothers' in Temagami and on Bear Island, and lived and painted together in Ottawa. Hugh has painted 'Coming Home' to honour Benjamin, in his life, and his legacy.

'I've always called him Benji... he called me his brother... 'Coming Home' depicts the geese leading Benji's spirit back to family, culture, serenity, and peace of mind. This work is to honour my friend Benjamin Chee Chee, and all others who have the courage to change the things they can.'
