Mono-printing - At Home Art 4

Due to the current precautions being taken over the next several weeks TAG has decided to provide some ideas for crafts/art/activities at home. These will be in line with the planned scheduled activities that have been postponed.

Today we were to have our mono-printing workshop with Cameron Lamothe at the Open Studio Libre. Well I'm here to tell you that you can make your own monoprints at home. The first link I am sharing is for a video that shows you how to create a styrofoam matrix (plate that holds your an image). For this project you will need a piece of styrofoam or craft foam. You can use an old takeout container, a piece of packaging or styrofoam plate that you find at home. This video goes on to show you how to print using ink and a few different printmaking tools however if you do not have these products or tools continue down to the second link. Here we see how you can use washable Crayola markers instead of ink! This is super colourful and is easy to clean up . The third link shows an interesting mixed-media version of these printmaking techniques and is definitely worth a look. Now for some of our younger artists I have included a simple heart shaped stamp made from a toilet paper roll. Use washable paint and your little one can enjoy stamping too.

We hope you find them entertaining! Please feel free to like and share. If you do create a mono-print masterpiece we would love to see it. Take a picture and tag us #temiskamingartgallery.

That's it for now. Have a great day folks. Tune in tomorrow for another great craft idea.

Sincerely; Your friendly neighbourhood art gallery.
