Until the age of five, James lived on Bear Island where his family relocated to Temagami. Being a member of Temagami First Nation, Faubert has received training from Hugh MacKenzie, Benjamin Chee Chee and Wallace Irvine. He is an artist whose primary medium is acrylic on canvas.
