Jeanette Campbell

Jeanette Campbell set out to express as best as she could the emotional impact that the people and places of the north had on her. Her work is mostly in watercolours, pen and ink, etchings, oils, acrylics and batik. She taught art at Northern College in Timmins, for the Temiskaming School Board of Education and Haileybury School of Mines. She moved here from southern Ontario in 1975. Jeanette was born and raised in Toronto where she had her first art show at the age of 13. She studied art at the Central Technical Institute in Hamilton and then at the Dundas Valley School of Art. Jeanette has exhibited in solo and group shows across Canada, the USA, Britain and Europe. Her works are in collections in London Ontario and Victoria BC.

L’art de Jeanette Campbell se propose comme l’expression la plus fidèle possible du choc émotif de son expérience avec les gens et l’environnement du nord. Son œuvre consiste essentiellement en aquarelles, en dessins à la plume, en gravures à l’eau-forte, en peintures à l’huile ou acrylique et en batik. Elle a enseigné les beaux-arts au Collège Northern de Timmins, puis pour le compte du Conseil scolaire public du Timiskaming, ainsi qu’à l’École des Mines de Haileybury. Elle a quitté le sud de l’Ontario en 1975 pour venir s’établir dans le nord. Elle est née à Toronto, qui l’a vue grandir et lui a donné l’occasion d’exposer ses premiers tableaux à l’âge de 13 ans. Elle étudie ensuite les beaux-arts au Central Technical Institute de Hamilton et au Dundas Valley School of Art. Jeanette compte à son actif plusieurs expositions en solo ou de groupe à travers le Canada, aux États-Unis, en Grande-Bretagne et en Europe. Certaines de ses œuvres font partie de collections à London, Ontario, et à Victoria, C.-B.
