Up-cycled Plastic Bags 'At Home Art 32'

During this time of social distancing many of us have begun accumulating plastic grocery store bags. They are very thin and often rip after one or two uses so repurposing these bags requires a little bit of creativity. Here are some things I found that you can make with those pesky grocery store bags. If you want to try fusing the bags with an iron you can make some fused plastic sandwich wraps. These are a nice reusable option for storing leftovers or picnic lunches. By selecting bags with prints and patterns you can make some fused plastic coasters. If you would like to try braiding your plastic bags why not make a plastic bag jump rope or a braided dog leash? If like me you are a crocheter there are many wonderful crochet patterns that can be made using plastic bags. You will have to pre-cut your plastic bags, like many of these tutorials, to form a yarn, once you have enough yarn you can try making a flower pot, a placemat or even these super awesome plastic bag sandals, witch I am definitely going to try! And lastly I am including the tutorial that shows you how to make plastic bag pom poms that require bags, scissors and very little else. These are a wonderful way to decorate or make them as a toy. Try adding a little bell for extra fun! I hope these ideas save some of your bags from ending up in the landfill. If you do create a plastic bag craft take a picture and show it to us.

That's it for now. Have a great day folks and don't forget to tune in tomorrow for another great art/craft idea.

Sincerely; Your friendly neighbourhood art gallery.
