Today I would like to explore a drawing. Many folks say either that they are not a good drawer or that they would like to be a better drawer. There is one very easy way to get over this and that is to spend time drawing. Drawing is just like anything else, it takes practice to improve your skill and if you are not practicing or are out of practice you will find that your skills get rusty. However with regular practice you will see your skills rapidly improve. Drawing is an activity that you can do whether you have 5 minutes or an hour to dedicate to it and all you need is a writing utensil. It is nice to have a pencil or charcoal set that offers you different hardness options however this is not necessary. So let's get started. I have included a drawing tutorial that goes over different techniques using a pencil. In this tutorial the process is explained using many art terms which will help you get familiar with the elements of design. The second link provides some sketching tips for beginners. This video is a little bit less technical then the first. The third link is to a family YouTube channel, Art For Kids Hub! I have referenced videos from this page a few times now and I find it's perfect for younger artists. Some people like to draw in solitude however drawing is also really fun as a social activity as well. Try playing a game of Pictionary or Partner in Pen or you can try doing a collaborative drawing where one person draws a portion of a figure or thing and the next person has to complete it. Whether you choose to draw things around your house, play a drawing game or keep a drawing journal I hope that drawing brings happiness into your daily life.
That's it for now. Have a great day folks. Toon in tomorrow for another great art/craft idea.
Sincerely; Your friendly neighbourhood art gallery.
