Communications Officer Intern
Contract position runs 56 weeks. It is a 32.5 hour work week including occasional evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities:

Design graphics for social media posts and printed marketing material for exhibitions, workshops, special events and gallery campaigns.

Updating social media accounts and the TAG website with current activities and projects.

Writing and editing content for social media, e-newsletters and other communications (printed newsletters, newspaper interviews, radio interviews and other media releases)

Building and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff, the Board of Directors, and Gallery Stakeholders.

Monitoring and analyzing metrics regarding the Gallery's digital reach and being able to make recommendations for improvement.

Create virtual tours of exhibitions at the gallery, take still photos and videos at events and workshops for use in reporting an marketing.

Organizing and contracting outside vendors for special events (Art in the Park)

Connect with community businesses and organizations for sponsorships.

Qualifications and Experience:​

Effective interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal and written abilities) to work well as a team member

Attention to detail and accuracy in work performed, as well as the ability to complete tasks safely within assigned time frames

Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)

Computer proficiency and design experience an asset
