Art Camp Coordinator

Contract position runs from May 25 to August 30. It is a 35 hour work week including occasional evening and weekend work.

Salary: $18.00/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with weekly art workshops (for children, youth, adults, and older adults)

  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop space

  • Assist with planning and facilitating 3 week-long arts day camps for school-age children

  • Supervise workshops and events at the Open Studio

  • Process sales and transactions

  • Assist the Open Studio Facilitator with inventory of art supplies, making recommendations for purchases

  • Create educational material to accompany public art displays in Temiskaming Shores (pamphlets, informational tours, etc.)

Skills Required:

  • Bilingualism preferred

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A passion for arts and culture

  • Prior related and relevant experience is considered an asset

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal and written abilities) to work well as a team member

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work performed, as well as the ability to complete tasks safely within assigned time frames

  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)

  • Computer proficiency and design experience an asset

Art in the Park Coordinator

  • Help with set-up, take down and running of weekly festival

  • Assist with setup, take down, and running of family art activities

  • Create, administer, and report on feedback surveys and keep records of attendance

  • Assist Executive Director with reports for funding sources for the festival

Skills Required:

  • Bilingualism preferred
