Biographies > Susan Mancantelli
The TAG collection work by Susan Mancantelli, Shadow Play, is an oil painting full of colour – a path inviting you into the sunny, warm scene. Susan writes that she hopes her paintings, “make you pause, perhaps remember a similar experience and leave you with a pleasant memory”. She says that she has always been captivated by form and colour.
Susan has travelled extensively living in many countries and parts of Canada. But she says that there is something about this particular part of Temiskaming that always has drawn her.. She writes, “There is a beauty here in nature, in architecture, in local colour and history that is unique. It appeals to me and affects my work as no other place I have been."
Susan lives in Haileybury where she has her studio. She has been a member of the Temiskaming Palette and Brush Club for many years, during which time she was president for two years and three years as the club’s NOAA representative. She was also on the NOAA Web-site Development committee. She was Director of the NOAA from 2004 to 2008, and on the Nominating Committee. She has been a stalwart supporter of the Temiskaming Art Gallery, and was a Director (93-97) and Chair (97-01) of the Board for several years. She has often helped with the children’s programmes – TAGalong and Junior Artists’ Colony.
