Being an artist in northern Ontario, It was obvious to me that the difficult terrain and hard economic conditions accounted for a compelling similarity in architecture between the Newfoundland I had lived and worked in and that of the towns in northern Ontario (Oh Cobalt Town). The landscape here has a presence in my work, but my life is driven by the wish to have my vocation and daily routine unified.
