Biographies > Diane Green
Diane is a northeastern Ontario artist to her soul. Born and raised in Elk Lake, Ontario, her art has always been inspired by her love of nature and people of the region. Her pastel of the ice ridge on Lake Temiskaming in the TAG collection conjures up the splendour and danger found in northern winters. As well as self-taught, she has taken many local courses and workshops. She is a regular participant at the Cobalt Artists’ Colony and has been its tireless convenor for over ten years. Diane originally painted in oils but now also works in pastels and watercolours. Diane is a member of the Temiskaming Palette and Brush Club and the NOAA. She has exhibited in many group exhibitions and in 2005 she had a solo show at the Classic Theatre gallery in Cobalt. She has had works accepted in the NOAA’s Juried Exhibitions and won the Manitoulin Transport Award in 1991, the Sheila Langlois Award in 2001 and Honourable Mention in 2002.
